Good post and interesting to see the CMA support here. There are all kinds of options I swear any more. I posed about the script ATM machine a short while back, only used in Canada at present but making it's way down here too.

One thing that is also interesting too is the focus on tracking medications. So many now are looking for the $4 generic deals, and I do too as it is cheaper than the co-pay half the time too.

The problem though is that the script is not tracked, a nightmare for managed health care as they show up and ask the doctors as to why the patients are not taking their meds, when in fact they are, there's just no tracking through the insurance company. Family practice docs get this all the time with P4P evaluations. Most just tell the HMO to pound sand.
