Insider could not believe the strange, but all too familiar, smell when he opened his copy of the BMJ this weekend. The British Medical Journal this week carries an editorial on the recently published ASCOT Study.
With typical British reserve Insider's only comment will be to say, at this time, that the editorial is factually correct but perhaps it goes a little too far in attempting to second guess the reaction of the National Institute of Clinical Excellence and the British Hypertension Society as they plan to revise their advice on managing hypertension.
