Pharma Watch has spotted this significant difference between Australia and New Zealand with regard to how they managed the "coxibs" introduction into their repective countries reimbursment schemes:
Aussies: allowed two in and blew their 2002 budget (plus, of course, the human cost).
Kiwis: didnt allow them in and saved not only $$$ but also an estimated 330-1900 lives.
A lesson for the future?
