Merck trial contd.

With friends like Dr Alan Nies (a former colleague and leader if the Vioxx studies), who needs enemies, Ed Scolnick must be thinking!

When asked whether he trusted Scolnick, Nies replied that Scolnick (the former head of Mercks' research labs, mind you) is "not what you would call a steady person."

In Perry Mason movies it's always a bad sign when the opposition turns on its own people!
