Pfizer - Cutting jobs

Poor Pfizer. They have announced that they are closing one of their New Jersey factories (which makes their famous BenGay sports rub!) by the end of 2008.

The company will lay off 125 employees, a quarter of the total at the site, by the end of March. The 365 others will lose their jobs in stages, as product lines are shifted to other Pfizer plants.

Workers will have the chance to apply for positions elsewhere in the company or to leave with at least three months of severance pay, plus a one-year extension of benefits.

Gosh, according to Pfizer insiders the global total was only 922... Gee, how can this be happening? 15k global layoffs by 2008. Pfizer must cut over $3billion by 2008.

The Pfizer insider who claimed 922 world wide is a “Lying sack of crap.”.
