AstraZeneca PLC's former chief executive Tom McKillop, who retired as head of Europe's third-biggest drugmaker at the end of 2005, received a 60% pay rise last year.
The CEO, who led the company from the 1999 merger of Sweden's Astra and Britain's Zeneca Group, earned £2.25 million, including a $1.3 million bonus, the group's annual report showed.
Nice one, Tom; good "fillip" for the old final salary pension scheme, eh?!
Finance chief Jon Symonds' pay climbed 31% to £1.27 mln, while director of development John Patterson was paid £1.05 mln.
Total directors' remuneration climbed 55% to £6.26 mln.
So, all other AZ workers now know the percentage increases they can expect in their salaries - NOT!
