I have read two great articles recently that have really made me think about medicine, Big Pharma and the future.
This one asks a few hard questions about medicine as a profession.
"In short, to restore the scientific integrity of medicine as a profession, we must regulate and in some cases eliminate the influence of commercial interests whose values require a primary commitment to increasing value for shareholders, not patients."
This one (which is one of the best articles I have ever read - please try and get it, even if it means subscribing) puts forward a very cogent argument that Big Pharma is in the process of turning doctors into another promotional tool in their armamentarium.
Food for thought!
