The State of Tennessee will recover nearly $5.4 million in a national settlement with King Pharmaceuticals Inc. of Bristol. It's over allegations King overcharged federal and state health programs for drugs.
The company announced in November that it would pay more than $124 million to resolve the allegations of deceptive drug pricing to state and federal programs, including Medicaid for low-income Americans and the Veterans Administration.
Of the money coming to Tennessee, $2 million will be paid directly to the state and the rest will go to the federal government to reimburse its share of Medicaid costs.
