Here's how it works:
A patient with a nonurgent problem logs into a clinic's secure Web site and describes a problem.
The Web site prompts the patient to answer questions about the concern and sends the information to a doctor.
When possible, the doctor reviews the concern.
Within one or two days of the patient logging a concern, the doctor will respond with a course of action that could range from calling in a prescription, adjusting drug dosages, advising that the patient take some other action at home or scheduling an in-office appointment.
Sounds far fetched? Welcome to the future .
