Last year, the current Pfizer CEO Hank McKinnell promoted three ambitious top executives: Karen Katen, head of sales and marketing, David Shedlarz, chief financial officer and Jeff Kindler, chief counsel; expanding their responsibilities and bestowing each with a vice chairmanship.
Hank will go sometime between now and 2008.
So the race is on for the "glittering prize".
