Xenical/Alli - Eww! It doesn't bear thinking about!

The UK Summary of Product Characteristics for fatbuster drug orlistat (Xenical, and the soon to come Alli) has just been updated by the manufacturers to draw attention to a drug interaction with the contraceptive pill.

The interaction is not a direct drug-drug interaction however it seems that indirectly orlistat can reduce the availability of OC's.

Additional contraceptive methods are recommended, especially in cases of severe diarrhoea!
