Nope, according to one critic:
The drug industry’s laments are “just major kvetching” said Dr. Sidney Wolfe, the head of health research at the watchdog group Public Citizen. He said that executives and Wall Street were looking for a scapegoat for the pharmaceutical industry’s failure to develop better drugs.
(kvetching = To complain persistently and whiningly.)
Insider's view: the FDA has become more and more politicized. Not surprisingly therefore the staff may well have become more cautious.
But we live in a post-Vioxx world. More importantly, we live in a post-Pargluva world (which demonstrated clearly to Insider that you cant rely on "expert panels" and that Big Pharma had learned nothing from the Vioxx debacle).
So, Big Pharma will just have to suck it up!

the more I read you blog, the more that I found you are a really asshole
At the same time, little pharma (and little biotech) has to suck it up, for better or worse.
To anonymous:
Good for you. Keep up the reading.
You clearly need lessons in grammar!
To JJ:
Dont worry! The rate things are going all of "little pharma and biotech" will be bought up by Big Pharma in next few years.

Yeah but they have a while.
First, all the big pharmas have to complete their hostile takeovers of each other. Then, the little guys have to get their products out of Phase II trials so Big Pharma can avoid some of the risk.
