Hospira to pay $2 billion to buy Mayne Pharma

Hospira Inc., which makes hospital products, has agreed to purchase Mayne Pharma Ltd., based in Australia, for $2 billion.

The purchase will expand Hospira's generic injectables business.

Mayne Pharma shareholders will receive $3.09 for each share, which is a 32% premium over Monday's closing price.
