AstraZeneca is considering a bid to acquire British pharmaceutical company Shire Plc., the maker of the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder drug, Adderall, a British magazine reported on its web site today.
The magazine, named The Business, did not cite the source of its information, and said AstraZeneca hasn't made an offer for the company but could afford to pay 5 billion pounds, or $9.5 billion.
