Are AstraZeneca's scientists lazy?

AstraZeneca has demanded scientists at its laboratories increase the number of projects they are working on to raise growth and lift the company's falling share price, Dagens Industri reported, citing an interview with the company's head of research.

AstraZeneca's 12,000 scientists work with about 200 projects, the Stockholm-based newspaper said today.
Its head of research Jan Lundberg wants that to increase by 50 percent.
Insider's view: That's the way Jan. The beatings should continue until morale improves.

Um, 12,000 scientists working on 200 projects. 60 scientists/project? Yes, they should increase the number of projects they're working on. They flip side is that the head honchos need to be willing to take some risks and accept some failures.

But the answer is that they're dangerously content, if not lazy.
