GSK - Seroxat/Paxil: in case you can't tune into the BBC tonight

Here's a summary of tonight's Panorama.

Secret emails reveal that the UK's biggest drug company distorted trial results of its anti-depressant, covering up a link with suicide in teenagers.

Panorama reveals that GSK attempted to show that Seroxat/Paxil worked for depressed children despite failed clinical trials.

And that GSK-employed ghostwriters influenced 'independent' academics.

Can't wait!

If the emails were so "secret", how did they get them? Nothing is "secret" when sent in an email these days. Don't make it sound like a big conspiracy.

Looking at the program it looks like a conspiracy (and fraud) to me!

Even when they have negative studies that show that this drug Seroxat is going to harm some kids they still spin that study as remarkably effective and safe for children.

Classic Pharma behaviour - outragious, but sadly not surprising given the financial stakes. More regulation needed here.
