Bayer catches Pfizeritis - it looks like 20% is the "magic number"!

Bayer is planning to cut 1,000 of 5,000 workers at its Berlin plant, the Tagesspiegel reported citing unnamed industry sources.

The cuts at the plant, which was previously part of the Schering, should begin at the end of 2007, the newspaper said in an article that will be published on Monday.

Bayer will tell workers of the cuts on March 2, the newspaper reported citing unnamed company sources.
