Allergan - worth every penny?


Allergan Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive David E.I. Pyott in 2006 received total compensation valued by the company at just under $12 million, the drug developer said Wednesday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.


Pyott received $1,233,769 in salary, $2 million in non-equity incentive plan compensation and $46,482 in other compensation, including $20,500 in a tax and financial planning allowance and a $10,500 auto and gas allowance.


The majority of the compensation came in the form of stock and option awards, which the company valued at just under $8.7 million when granted on Jan. 30, 2006.
