
Merck gave its Chief Executive Officer Richard T. Clark a 40 percent raise in his salary and bonus.
Clark's salary increased to $1.7 million from $1.2 million as of March 1, the company said today in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, while his bonus for his performance last year was raised to $1.8 million from $1.3 million.
Lilly's CEO Sidney Taurel was paid $3.8 million in 2005 and Abbotts' CEO Miles White was paid $4.255 million.
