A poor quarter for Novartis
Swiss drugmaker Novartis has today reported a 45% drop in fourth-quarter net profit as a $444 million restructuring charge pressured earnings and sales at the pharmaceuticals unit were hit by generic competition and the Zelnorm withdrawal.
