What about the Basques, Chechnyans and Palestinians? Why is it that the Tibetans are the 'favored' Oppressed people? I am supportive of Tibetan rights, but amazed at the general level of hypocrisy.
The Tibetans have killed plenty of Han Chinese. Do not assume that all Tibetans are as peaceful as the Dalai LAma.
Regardless though of the means an oppressed people uses to gain thier freedom, should not their underlying right to freedom be the same whoever their oppressor is?

Perhaps because it's a pretty pacific people which have not killed thousands innocent civilians in reply to a conflict with military forces...
