Glaxo Consumer Health - the dark side of Moon
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare this week began a series of employee layoffs as part of a restructuring that also includes moving its weight control and smoking cessation groups from Moon, Pennsylvania to Parsippany, N.J.
Nine directors were let go and an undetermined number of its 500 plus employees are expected to be "terminated" by the end of the summer.
The basic layoff algorithm goes "less than or equal to x, where x is the number of axe-able employees." Whoever gets to be the "less than" turns out the lights and picks up his pink slip at the P.O.
Regarding A. Witless CEO & the Moroccan wonder, M. Salami, it's easy to destroy a company for short-erm gains. It's a much harder task to invest in the future. These guys arev desparate.
