Say it ain't so, Joe

"Joe the Plumber" was a debate prop John McCain used last night. But guess what?! He's a partisan Republican who also happens to be a member of McCain's old friends, the Keating family.

From Martin Eisenstadt:

Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who’s Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating’s son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan. The now retired elder Wurzelbacher is also a major contributor to Republican causes giving well over $10,000 in the last few years.

Turns out that "Joe the Plumber" is not quite the hero as portrayed. He says he wants to buy this plumbing business from his boss - "we've talked about it, but nothing concrete" and is worried about how much in taxes he will have to pay IF he makes over $250,000. Now, let's mention that neither "Joe" or his boss are licensed plumbers so that would kind of shoot any chances of buying a plumbing business, let alone operating one without a license. What about all the other plumbers who have paid their license fees and now this guy comes along and complains about taxes yet doesn't even buy his license. I'd hate to be on the delivery end of a poor job by "Joe" as there would be no recourse and my problem since I didn't check his credentials.
The other item that poor ole' "Joe" has stepped in is his close connection to the "Keating" Savings and Loan involving McCain and he has the guts to come out against Senator Obama in favor of someone it would appear he has some connection to. Hum?
