People who get less than six hours sleep a night are more likely to die early, The Daily Telegraph and The Independent have reported. Researchers at the University of Warwick made the claims.
The Daily Telegraph also reported that spouses of dementia sufferers are six times more likely to develop the condition themselves, according to US research.
And The Daily Telegraph says nearly 300 extra transplant operations a year could be carried out if the UK changed to an “opt out” donation system, according to experts writing in the BMJ.
NICE have been asked for guidance regarding the use of Avastin to treat macular degeneration, the broadsheet also reported.
The Independent reported that a paediatrician struck off the medical register in 2007 for allegedly accusing a mother of murdering her son was restored yesterday. The GMC overturned the decision, saying it was based on “flawed” reasoning, the paper says.
