Arthritis supplements 'have no clinical impact' - Telegraph

Glucosamine and chondroitin have increasingly been prescribed to patients in recent years with global sales reaching almost $2 billion (£1.3bn).

The supplements are natural compounds found in cartilage, which are available for as little as £8 from a variety of high street pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies.

But the study, published in the British Medical Journal, said there was no evidence of them having any impact on the condition, other than a psychological benefit.
