Settlement announced in alleged Botox death suit - San Jose Mercury News

SANTA ANA, Calif.—Two siblings who claimed the the drug Botox led to the death of their 69-year-old mother have settled their lawsuit against the Irvine-based company Allergan.

The son and daughter of the alleged victim, Sondra Bryant, filed their lawsuit in July 2008. The suit claimed Bryant received Botox injections from 2005 to 2007 to help with neck and shoulder pain and eventually died from the treatment.

Widely used to reduce wrinkles, the drug has also been used for migraines, cerebral palsy and muscular pain.

The spokeswoman for Irvine-based Allergan, Caroline Van Hove, said the company is not releasing any details on the settlement which was announced on Thursday, the same day the civil trial was set to begin.
