Excellus report: As brand-name drug prices rise docs write more prescriptions for generics | syracuse.com

Brand name drugs that posted the biggest increases in average wholesale price for a 30-day supply over the past five years include: Acthar Gel (multiple sclerosis and seizures), more than 2000 percent; Copaxone (multiple sclerosis), 131 percent; Entocort EC (Crohn's disease), 119 percent; Xeloda (chemotherapy), 88 percent; Tracleer (pulmonary hypertension), 77 percent, and Gleevec (leukemia), 71.5 percent.
