WASHINGTON -- The generic-drug maker Mylan has sued the FDA in a bid to allow the introduction of copycat versions of Pfizer's popular cholesterol-lowering drug Lipitor in June, five months earlier than expected.
Mylan asked a federal judge to force the FDA to deny an application by rival Ranbaxy Laboratories to have exclusive rights to market generic Lipitor for six months starting in November.
