PEARL RIVER — In the latest cut to its work force, Pfizer plans to lay off 71 employees at its Pearl River plant, according to a notice filed with the state Department of Labor.
The layoffs include 47 union and 24 non-union employees and will stretch through June 29 of this year. The company cites “restructuring” as the cause of the layoffs.
In May 2010, the pharmaceutical giant announced that it would close all but one division by 2014, cutting 1,250 employees.
