AARP Finds Big Shifts in Prescription Costs

Researchers found that the price of generic medicines fell by almost 31% over the course of four years. At the same time, brand name drug prices increased by nearly 41%, and specialty drug prices rose by just over 48%. For patients taking a drug for a chronic condition, their average annual cost rose from $2,160 to $3,168 over the same time period.
