Law360, Chicago (February 07, 2013, 3:43 PM ET) -- Kentucky's attorney general announced Thursday that AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP will pay $5.5 million to settle the state's off-label marketing claims for the blockbuster antipsychotic drug Seroquel, making Kentucky the latest state to resolve similar allegations with the pharmaceutical giant.The deal ends Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway's lawsuit alleging that AstraZeneca illegally marketed Seroquel for uses other than the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorders in adults — the uses approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as being safe and effective.
