BMS - Plavix: FBI are on the (antitrust) case


Poor Bristol-Myers Squibb. Just when they thought they had put the Plavix problem behind them.

On Thursday had to reveal that the federal government is conducting a criminal antitrust probe of a settlement that would allow the company to stave off generic competition for its best-selling product for years.

Agents for the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the office of Bristol-Myers Squibb Chief Executive Peter Dolan as part of a criminal antitrust probe, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing a person familiar with the matter.

FBI agents, working on behalf of the Justice Department, showed up on Wednesday at the Manhattan headquarters of BMS and left with documents, the paper reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.

The agents searched Dolan's office, among others, the report said.
