Big Pharma's lobby machine is pushing against a renewed effort in the U.S. Congress to pass a law enabling American consumers to buy cheaper prescription drugs from Canada and other countries.
The legislation, supported by Democrats and Republicans, would allow individuals and pharmacies to order drugs from 19 countries.
Supporters of the bills point out that Canadians pay about 60% less for identical medicines than Americans.
