Healthcare 311 currently has records for 1001 US retail clinic (aka "doc in a box" - watch the video here) locations.
Most industry predictions forecast between 3 and 6 new clinics opening per day during 2008.
I do not see the benefit of expanding retail clinics, nor does this represent a fair market. Only if physicians could dispense medications and control the distribution costs of their medications, I would say leave them alone.
