Day 10 for striking staff at AstraZeneca / Britain / Home - Morning Star

Day 10 for striking staff at AstraZeneca / Britain / Home - Morning Star: "Workers at pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca in Macclesfield will take part in a 10th day of strike action today over the company's decision to impose savage cuts to its final-salary pension scheme.

Over 200 members of the GMB union voted by huge majority to strike for the first time in the plant's history.

Talks earlier in November failed to when the company said that they were not in a position to make any proposals to settle the dispute.

GMB national officer Allan Black said: 'We are now at day 10 of this strike action.

'This is disappointing but the responsibility for the lack of progress rests fairly and squarely with AZ.'
