Pharmaceutical firm Sanofi-Aventis Canada Inc. is laying off about 100 people as part a major streamlining effort.
The company, which has about 1,700 employees across Canada, made the announcement Wednesday. It did not specify where the job cuts will take place. The subsidiary of French pharma giant Sanofi-Aventis (SNY-N35.84-0.42-1.16%) said its presence in Canada is concentrated at key facilities in the greater Montreal and Toronto areas.
